The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut announces 18 grants made through the Connecticut Social Equity Council’s (SEC) Community Reinvestment Pilot Program, an initiative to reinvest revenues from the State’s new adult-cannabis industry in communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the “war on drugs.” In Eastern Connecticut, the SEC’s Disproportionately Impacted Areas (DIAs) of focus are New London, Norwich, and Willimantic/Windham.
“We are thrilled to have been selected and The SECT Women’s Network’s is hosting a Mini Golf Fun-draiser on Thursday, September 21, 2023. This fun evening for the whole family will be held at Odetah Camping Resort in Bozrah, CT at 5:30 pm.
Join us for mini golf, dinner, ice cream, prizes and more! All proceeds of this event will go to the Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund benefits local women who are returning back to school at either Three Rivers Community College, UCONN Avery Point, or Eastern CT State University.

Eastern CT – Participants in the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT’s Leadership Class of 2018 announced that they have completed renovations of the shared family spaces for Madonna Place in Norwich as part of their class project. The renovations took place in May 2017. An official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the closure of the project will be held June 14, 2017, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Madonna Place’s 240 Main Street Norwich facility in Celebrating five years as the emerging leader of college access in the state of Connecticut, Higher Edge announces its 5-year Anniversary Celebration taking place on Saturday, November 19th. The event will showcase a uniquely designed timeline exhibit, chronicling the organization’s growth.
Additionally, Higher Edge will honor Dr. Walter Diaz – Dean of Students at Eastern Connecticut State University – with the College Access Champion Award.
